Got a career in STEM?

Careers Fair · Professional panel & career stalls

We're running a careers fair on Saturday 31 October, and we need people in STEM to represent their careers on a stall.

Students and professionals, wherever you are in your field — come and give advice, and help inspire young people deciding what to do next.

Two ways you could help

Host a careers stallA table of your own for the afternoon. Young people come to you with the questions they're too shy to ask a stranger on LinkedIn.
Volunteer on the daySetting up, greeting, running the room. No stall — just hands and a bit of time.

Not the panel. We choose the panellists ourselves and get in touch with them directly, so there's nothing to apply for there — this form is about the stalls.

Careers we'd love on a stall

Engineeringcivil, mechanical, electrical, structural, aerospace
Architecture & the built environmentarchitects, surveyors, planners, project managers
Medicine & healthcaredoctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers
Technologysoftware engineers, cyber security, IT, product
Computer & data sciencedata scientists, data analysts, machine learning, AI research
Science & researchbiology, chemistry, physics, lab science, academia
Maths & financeactuaries, analysts, statisticians, accountants
Environment & sustainabilityenvironmental consultants, energy, climate

Not on the list? Sign up anyway. If you work or study in STEM, someone in that room wants to hear how you got there.

Good to know

  • You don't need years behind you. Students and people early in their field are exactly who a 16-year-old finds easiest to picture themselves as.
  • Every route counts — university, apprenticeship, college, a graduate scheme, a career change at 35.
  • Signing up doesn't commit you to anything. A member of the team will come back to you to confirm your stall and when to arrive.
  • Tell us your accessibility requirements on the form and we'll make the day work around them.

Questions?

Ask us anything through the contact form and it goes straight to the Shias In STEM team. Not sure this is for you? Have a look at what SIS does.
